As is quite evident by the little title image above, the weather around here is pretty much sub-zero, and I have to admit, that’s the highlight of my season. My horrible learning environment which I whined about back around September, is still horrible and am begining to wonder if I can hold out the full two years. Looking at a couple of IT-Technician type jobs and apprenticeships, would help get me the needed know-how in computer-networking and windows servers tomanage the computers in the wonderful LAN gaming center I want to start. A shame the startup costs are kinda high.. (If I’ve not talked about this before I’ll have to make a point to do so in future.) Luckily because of the high startup costs, the profit it rakes in is pretty good..
Thanks again guys for listening to my pointless babble. ^^;

Just curious, how much does it cost to start a LAN gaming center over there, if you don't mind me asking.
It depends on how many computers you want, I figured that for a LAN center with servers, 90 PC's and 40 consoles, it comes to about £360k (I THINK that's about $540k in USD). I've realised that if you start a small place, although dramatically cheaper, you don't make enough profit to anything other than keep afloat.
I should probably write about it sometime, but it sucks that I'd need an investor to get that much money.
but then again that £360k would probably cover the costs of the premesis aswell and as far as starting out renting is a more sensible prospect plus the fact that its a future idea is very useful for you due to the current econimical climate which has caused a lot of drop in demand for such facilities but when the econemy starts to stabalize again and people start spending their hard earned cash again then demand will pick up, but so will property prices lol. That being said the main market at the moment is to target students as they are about the only people still spending cash on non essential items due to not actually having the money they are spending :D
Purchasing in a large city would cost a fortune, plus I tihnk the councils own most of the business property in cities. You really just wanna rent as much as you can, but purchase/build a head office if you ever get to that point.
